A letter from Editor & Founder
In a desire to align luxury foods with style and health, my ancestral French heritage and appetite for elegance are encapsulated in FODMAP Health’s first repertoire. I aim to inspire and motivate those interested in a low FODMAP and gluten free lifestyle, in the hope to provide multi-sensory food experiences through a unique collection of recipes, exclusively available for purchase through our boutique website.
For the past 5 years, FODMAP Health has been my platform to convey workable recipes for varying needs and the hurried consumer/cook. Aside from learning that a minimalistic approach is sometimes the best relief for my symptoms, I encourage experimentation within the limitations of dietary requirements, throughout the elimination phase of the low FODMAP diet. From Paris to New York, I admittedly plan my annual vacations around wining and dining, allowing my passion for exquisite and world-renowned restaurants to thread inspiration into my recipes. 22 countries and counting, I now realise that travel enriches my food knowledge and that I thrive on the hidden treasures, boutique streets and infectious wanderlust feelings that are ever so addictive.
My current diagnosis encompasses Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Fructose and Lactose Malabsorption (since 2013). The acronym FODMAP represents Fermentable, Oligosaccharides, Disaccharide, Monosaccharides and Polyols. A mouthful for the non-scientific, these short-chain carbohydrate sugars are poorly absorbed by my intestine, resulting in metabolic discomfort. Always health conscious with a passion for nutrition, I have a Bachelor of Education (Prep-12, Health) after initially studying nursing, competed nationally in sport and ran a sports coaching business in Melbourne, Australia. A healthy lifestyle for me embraces delectable food, daily exercise, balanced time between loved ones and work, surrounding myself with small items of pleasure such as fresh blooms, the latest edition of Vogue, mood changing music and in true Parisian fashion, I love to entertain through dinner parties with close friends and family.
As research is constantly developing and changing around this diet, I find it extremely important to refer to the Monash Low-FODMAP Diet™ App regularly for updates.
